California Dreaming
When I saw the photos from this shoot, it completely reminded me of the California Dream & Lifestyle. I love the life I live and where I came from, I couldn't imagine having it any other way. I was fortunate to be raised in a strong and loving family. My parents are still married and live in the same house they built 30 years ago. I grew up raising pigs, goats, and everything you could think of; I was a rodeo cowgirl, played sports and competed in every singing competition around.
I look at these photos and giggle a little, thinking... I used to hang out with my pigs! I feel like I live in two completely different worlds, from Northern California to Southern California, I have entirely different daily agendas and experiences. From what I've heard, people who either haven't seen California at all, or haven't seen Northern California, have no idea how different it is. When you imagine California, what do you think? Comment below! Most peoples thoughts lead to, palm trees, cities, beaches & sunshine. This is just Southern California, just like these photos. Throughout my blog, I will give you a little insight on Northern California as well, where I grew up and still call home. Just recently, I still had my three miniature goats and two miniature pigs, imagine that! Although, my good friends rehoused them, due to my home going up for rental, to fire victim families. I'll tell you all about my experience being in the middle of the tragic fire, that ripped through Northern CA, later on. That being said, thank god for my roots and being able to stay down to earth, while also living in the crazy city of LA, that is known to eat you up and spit you out!
Back to the details, shop my style, by clicking the links! I am wearing another, For Love & Lemons Cleo Floral Maxi Dress, they currently have a pop up shop in LA; you can find more information and discounts on my recent blog. I paired this dress with a nude set of sandals by Chanel; you can find them in the Chanel stores or at Saks Fifth Avenue. This feminine dress can be dressed up with a set of heels, over the knee boots or dressed down, with sandals or my favorite mules. It was a warm day when I styled it, but if it cooled down, you could pair almost any jacket with it. My personal picks would be, a denim or leather, black jacket. My handbag is made by Louis Vuitton, you can find one similar on their website, the Saint Sulpice PM Monogram Empreinte Leather. I have a weakness for designer shoes & bags, but I style the majority of my outfits, non-designer, as you will see, so we can stay fashionable and affordable!
Where can you get your hands on designer accessories for less? Some of my favorite places to find amazing deals are as follows: First and best, is Gilt Groupe, they have sales that start every morning, set your notification's on, but be aware this site is addicting! Second favorite is Tradesy, you can get $50 off your first purchase by subscribing, they have literally everything. Third is Ebay, the only thing you have to be careful about on this site is authenticity. Make sure you know everything about the item and what to look for, luckily there is PayPal protection and if anything isn't right when you receive it, open a case and get your money back. (Do not order anything that ships from over seas). Last but not least, is a tie between Rue La La & Nordstrom Rack, they are both similar to Gilt Groupe and work as apps on your phone, as well as desktop. Contact me if you have any questions! Happy Shopping!
